Saunum Temperature Equalizing Electric Sauna Heater Package w/ Digital Controller and WiFi and Stones
A major problem for traditional electric saunas is uneven heat distribution. Because heat rises it's not uncommon for a sauna to be 200 degrees at head height and under 100 degrees at foot height. This often results in cold feet, harsh heat in the face (where you are most sensitive to it), and stale air. The best oxygen is low, while the best heat is high.
Saunum solves this.
Saunum’s patented air blending system draws heat and steam from near the ceiling, mixes it with cooler, more oxygenated air near the floor, and then directs more comfortable, breathable steam throughout the room. This equalizes room temperature by more than 60% for a significantly better sauna experience. You’ll enjoy longer, more satisfying sauna sessions with more intense sweating.
With the built-in Himalayan salt reservoir, optional aromatherapy, WiFi-enabled AIRIQ controller, and temperature equalizing design you’ll enjoy longer, more satisfying sauna sessions.

Choosing between an infrared sauna and a traditional sauna depends on your personal preferences, health goals, space, budget, and other practical considerations like power requirements. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide:
1. Heat Experience & Comfort:
- Traditional Saunas: Heat the air to high temperatures (up to 190°F) and warm your body from the outside in. This creates an intense, steamy environment that many people love for its authenticity and immediate sweating.
- Best for: Those who enjoy high heat and steam, and want the classic sauna experience.
- Infrared Saunas: Use infrared light to directly heat your body at lower temperatures (120-150°F). This gentle heat penetrates deeper into the muscles and tissues, allowing for longer, more comfortable sessions.
- Best for: People who prefer a milder, more gradual heat and still want deep detoxification.
2. Health Benefits:
- Traditional Saunas: Great for improving cardiovascular health, muscle relaxation, and detoxification through intense sweat. They are effective at reducing heart disease risk by up to 63% and relieving joint and muscle pain.
- Infrared Saunas: Offer similar benefits but with deeper penetration, promoting enhanced detoxification (up to 20% more), collagen production for better skin, and more effective pain relief and muscle recovery.
3. Cost:
- Traditional Saunas: Typically more expensive upfront due to the construction requirements (wood, rock heaters, etc.). They also may incur higher operational costs due to their energy consumption.
- Best for: Those who are willing to invest more for a luxurious, authentic experience.
- Infrared Saunas: Usually more affordable, with lower upfront costs and more energy-efficient operation. They use less power, which helps save on electricity bills.
- Best for: People on a budget looking for an economical option with lower ongoing costs.
4. Power Requirements:
- Traditional Saunas: Often require dedicated electrical wiring and professional installation due to their higher power needs, especially for larger models.
- Best for: Those prepared for a more involved setup and higher electrical demands.
- Infrared Saunas: Use less power and many 1- or 2-person models can be plugged into a standard 120-volt outlet, meaning no electrician is required for most smaller models.
- Best for: People looking for a simple, plug-and-play setup without the need for special wiring.
5. Space & Installation:
- Traditional Saunas: Require more space due to their design, especially if you want steam options. They are typically installed in larger areas like basements, home gyms, or outdoor spaces.
- Best for: Those with ample space and the desire for a more immersive, traditional setup.
- Infrared Saunas: Tend to be more compact and space-efficient, making them suitable for smaller areas like bathrooms, closets, or even bedrooms.
- Best for: Those with limited space or seeking a more flexible, portable option.
6. Energy Efficiency:
- Traditional Saunas: Use more energy because they need to heat the entire room and maintain high temperatures for the session.
- Best for: Those who don’t mind higher energy use for a more intense sauna experience.
- Infrared Saunas: More energy-efficient, as they use less power and operate at lower temperatures.
- Best for: Those looking to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact.
7. Maintenance:
- Traditional Saunas: Require ongoing maintenance, especially with wood care and the rock heaters, which need cleaning and periodic replacement of stones.
- Best for: Those who don’t mind the upkeep for a traditional experience.
- Infrared Saunas: Generally lower maintenance, with fewer components needing care. The infrared panels are durable and require minimal upkeep.
- Best for: Those looking for a low-maintenance option.
Key Considerations:
- If you prefer high heat and the classic sauna experience, and you have the space and budget for it, a traditional sauna might be the best choice.
- If you’re looking for a more affordable, energy-efficient, and space-friendly option with deep health benefits (like enhanced detoxification and easy installation), an infrared sauna may be more suitable.
Summary:
- Choose a traditional sauna if you want an intense, authentic sauna experience and don’t mind higher upfront costs, energy use, or more involved installation.
- Choose an infrared sauna if you prefer a gentler heat, want to save on energy and installation costs, and value a compact, low-maintenance setup.

Our traditional saunas typically get up to 195F with a basic heater and can get up to 230F with a premium heater. Most of our infrared saunas get up to 140F, but if you want an infrared sauna that gets up to 170F, check out our Finnmark line.
Yes, as long as it's not exposed to sun and rain directly. If you don't plan to put it under a covered patio or something similar, we recommend getting a custom outdoor sauna cover for it and keeping it covered as shown.
Just the heating panels. Otherwise they're identical. The regular low EMF model emits less than 8mG and the Elite version emits less than 3mG. If you’re not familiar, EMF stands for electromagnetic frequency and you can think of it kind of like radiation. Long story short, the less EMF you expose yourself to, the healthier you’ll be, so it’s always best to go with the Elite version if you plan to make a habit out of using your sauna, and you can afford the upgrade.
Chromotherapy, also known as color therapy, is a form of alternative therapy that uses colors to improve physical and mental well-being. The idea behind chromotherapy is that different colors have specific wavelengths and energy frequencies, which can influence a person’s mood, emotions, and even health when absorbed by the body. Each color is believed to have unique healing properties.
- Red: Stimulates energy, vitality, and circulation.
- Orange: Promotes creativity, enthusiasm, and emotional balance.
- Yellow: Boosts mood, self-confidence, and concentration.
- Green: Known for its calming and balancing effects, aiding in relaxation and stress relief.
- Blue: Soothes anxiety, promotes calm, and helps with sleep disorders.
- Indigo: Encourages deeper levels of relaxation and introspection.
- Violet: Supports mental clarity and spiritual awareness.
Red light therapy uses low wavelengths of red or near-infrared light to penetrate the skin and stimulate cellular repair, boost collagen production, and reduce inflammation. It’s commonly used for improving skin health (anti-aging, wrinkles), speeding up muscle recovery, relieving pain, and enhancing circulation. It’s also beneficial for wound healing, hair growth, and even improving sleep and mood by supporting cellular energy production and reducing stress on the body.
